After four and a half months at Bradenton's Mediplex Coma Rehabilitation Facility, all funds for Brooke's rehabilitation were exhausted. Medical expenses had exceeded half a Million Dollars. Brooke returned home to Clearwater where she was fed through a tube for two years. At home Brooke's activities were limited to watching Television or sleeping.  Brooke's undying faith motivated her to resume attendance at Calvary Baptist Church in her wheelchair.
While she still remained paralyzed on her entire right side, unable to talk, and blind in the right hemisphere of each eye, Brooke was soon to receive a priceless gift from an unexpected source.
One day a small announcement in the newspaper, placed by Abilities Foundation, Announced a new art instruction program for victims  of  head-injuries. With the very first class, Brooke found a way to express herself through her art..
Today , thanks to the countless prayers and support from thousands of compassionate people, Brooke is alive and well and painting beautiful pictures that are reproduced as greeting cards. And they are selling! She even does paintings by commission
